  • Shiksha Columbus Dr. TPS,

I am very thankful for all the learnings over the past 1 year. I am blessed to have learned this from you and this would inspire us to continue learning and growing. My parents are also very thankful to you and I am glad to have completed 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita which without you, would have been never completed.

    Thank you Dr. TPS!

  • Shiksha Columbus Seriously a proud moment for my parents that I have listened to all the 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita, which they unsuccessfully tried multiple times to initiate me into Gita learning classes during my school days..

Thank you Chachu your teachings made it so simple for me to understand, it was worth my time... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  • Shiksha Columbus This journey of reciting, imbibing and refreshing of, in my belief, the greatest scripture of humanity with someone as learned as Dr. TPS is a privilege that, when I retrospectively think, I could not have passed. First and foremost, I would like to thank my friend Parth who introduced me to this beautiful and august gathering. This is not my first Bhagvad Geeta session (and it certainly won’t be my last), coming from a devout Hindu background and living very close to the city that time forgot (Dwarka), I was subjected to it several times. The two renditions that I will cherish the most throughout my life are: -

    1) The one narrated and sung by my maternal grandfather during those summer vacations
    2) The one that I have just completed with Dr TPS along with another very close Parthasarthyji’s rendition

Why was it such an awe-inspiring experience? Here’s why! As a participant, you chant the shlok every time. That is what did it for me. You chant it in Sanskrit. The faculties of your chitta are triggered. That is vital. That is one of the key differences that separate other schools or sessions from the ones I have mentioned above. Just diving into vimarsha (tarka sangat satsang) is useless for me. The faculties of my gyaan need some zing. Sanskrit does it for me. Chanting shloks do it for me. That is the key thing.

Secondly, many people may have noticed Dr TPS with his Sandhi Vigraha when he chants shloks that have Sandhi and his style of getting into almost a poetic rhythm of depicting Samaas as well. Very few people today possess that grammatical knowledge. Without Bhaav the recitation will become a lesson in philosophy (which it is but I believe one cannot limit Geeta to just that, since It has got Its own intricacies).

What was my take-home from these sessions? Beginning this journey from Geeta recitation at Dwarka Peetham, was when I was first introduced to it. The chant that one imbibes deeply sink into the subconscious. Back then, I was curious just like I am today. I used to stop the chants midway for questions but at the time I was told, focus on recitation. It will sink in if you chant enough number of times. I couldn’t believe that was possible but THAT WAS TRUE! This is another reason that I have loved to attend such sessions repeatedly. However, few people including Dr TPS have been able to connect the traits of Karma-Kaand (Hindu rituals), Nyaas, Mimamsa (critical investigation) and other deep tools that were used by such ancient scholars as Shukracharya, Brihaspati onwards. The problem that most renditions have is that the connection with what Hindus do daily has been missing. They are very one-track. The focus lies on teachings and it is not bad but for someone like me, it becomes vitally important to tie all these things together as part of a sutra. That way the culture and tradition make sense. This was very effectively achieved by Dr TPS.

Finally, I would like to thank Dr TPS for taking time and travelling this far to conduct sessions that I hope may have inspired all the attendees to keep learning since this scripture is incredible. To me, this is the ultimate word and it was very tastefully and splendidly delivered by Dr. TPS. Hereby, I would also like to thank all the organizers including Anusha to provide us with constant reminders and unfailingly helping to set up every single aspect of the meetings.

Thank you once again Dr. TPS!

I met him on Facebook before meeting him in person but when I met him I felt like we met years ago. I felt so sad that he was here in Columbus last year with his Githa classes and I wasn’t even aware of that but then I realized that it’s the universe which works in it’s mysterious way and makes you meet with certain people at ripe time.
I met him for a video need for the upcoming temple in this town but looks to be this association will be for the rest of my life. Because of him I met so many in Columbus. A new world opened up for me from a person who was just visiting. A
Great to see a person selflessly imparting the knowledge. It requires lot of effort and time. You inspired a lot and I personally think we need lot more people like you in this world to make this world a beautiful place. Hope your life mission will make 1000s of Vivekanandas who would lead this world.
Salute Dr Sir Shiksha Columbus. Good bye till we meet again. Have a safe travel
